My First MUSIC VIDEO!
I finished filming my first music video for 'The Wolf at Team Musicare '. My last two songs for the 'Dog Tales' EP are nearly ready to send off for mixing/mastering, so the plan is to release the music video at the same time as the full EP ... hopefully by the end of this year or early next year ...
MUSIC WORKSHOPS
I have been lucky enough to attend several workshops over the past couple of months, where music industry experts have shared their insights and expertise.
Larry Mitchell - legendary instrumental guitarist and Grammy Award winner - was ultra generous with his time in Australia; not only sharing the stage with me at Gympie Muster and Brisbane Blues Cruise but also running three masterclasses on guitar, songwriting and production, which I was fortunate enough to attend.
Simon Blanch (Davros) - world-renowned sound engineer and producer who does live sound mixings for acts such as Hoodoo Gurus and Joe Satriani - recently ran a 2-day workshop at Team Musicare on advanced audio techniques and live sound mixing. His mixing skills and expertise are totally out of this world.
Harron's Custom Guitars - ran a guitar set-up masterclass where we covered everything from guitar cleaning, fretboard polish, neck relief, action/height adjustment and finally, intonation. An excellent introduction to help me become more independent setting up and maintaining my guitars.
WHAT I'M PLAYING
Joe Satriani - Satch Boogie. Some reminiscing this month in honour of the anniversary of the infamous Surfing with the Alien album. The first Satriani song I learnt was Satch Boogie in 2022 (for State Schools Creative Generations). I've only fallen more in love with metal guitar and instrumental rock since then!!
